Collective consumption in the circular economy
In this session, Roosa Luuukkonen from Tampere University will present her doctoral research about collective consumption in the circular economy.
The circular economy has gained increasing attention as a vision of a sustainable future. To succeed, many circular economy solutions require collective actions from consumers, such as sharing resources or participating in local initiatives. Despite the important role of collectives in creating, maintaining, and advocating circular consumption practices, the literature has not yet connected knowledge of consumer collectives with the circular economy. This study maps out the role of consumer collectives in the circular economy by a systematic literature review approach. The study offers a synthesised framework that highlights the ways in which consumer collectives enforce the circular transition and presents a research agenda to inspire further critical inquiry into the topic.
